Hisagi Uzanua was one of the Anakadian crew members of the Genyomasha that crashed to Earth after conflict with the Zon Ghouls , survived the crash along with many they were rescued by native humans who welcomed them to their village. He was personally nursed to health by the Village Leader's daughter who immediately developed romantic interests in him.
