The Infinite War is an ancient, on-going conflict between the Vikali of the Vikali Collective, and the Mayera hailing from the desolate Mayera Reaches. The war has been going on for tens of thousands of years, with no side holding a clear advantage. Billions on both sides have perished, and given the inherited memory of the Vikali and Mayera, both race know why the war was fought in the first place. The genocidial and omnicidial Mayera have been looking for a way out of the Reaches, having been trapped in the region by the Great Elders millennia ago. The only way out was through narrow open that was Vikali space. Thus, in their attempt to escape from their space and feed on the galaxy, the Mayera have fought against the Vikali, who in turn have been holding back the carnivorious tide, doing so as their duty to the galaxy and the life within it.
